myPCT: Delivering a Multi-Channel Healthcare Platform

Business Problem
myPCT set out to deliver a multi-channel healthcare platform — patient mobile app, provider web portal, and admin console — with a small team, third-party API dependencies, and compliance obligations. Without rigorous program structure, scope and dependencies threatened the timeline.
Architecture
A program architecture built on four workstreams — Patient Onboarding, Referral Management, Secure Messaging & Notifications, and Analytics & Reporting — each decomposed into EPICs, deliverables, and tasks mapped to sprint cycles and product releases.

A five-level WBS (Program → Workstream → EPIC → Deliverable → Task) served as the single source of truth for scope, effort, and timeline. Cross-team dependencies were surfaced pre-sprint to mitigate critical-path risk; weekly stakeholder reviews kept leadership aligned.
Challenges
- Concurrent third-party API onboarding and platform compliance dependencies.
- Coordinating product owners, engineering, clinical consultants, and compliance officers.
- Protecting the critical path across interdependent workstreams.
Solution
Delivered Patient Onboarding and Referral Management modules across two releases on schedule, with executive dashboards (RAG, milestones, risks, decisions) providing continuous visibility and early risk surfacing.

- A reusable program-governance backbone for subsequent AI capabilities.

Lessons Learned
In small teams, governance is not overhead — it is the multiplier. A visible WBS and honest RAG reporting prevent the seams from becoming failures.

Extend the governance backbone across new healthcare-AI capabilities — LiverScan screening, Care Gap patient identification, and automated scheduling workflows.
